Common GM/GMC misconceptions irritate me.
MOST IRRITATING:Person A:"I need a script to save my game!"Person B: -insert wrong code-Person A: "Doesn't work!"Person C: "I guess you'd need a .dll for that."Can't get something answered? Use a DLL!MOST COMMON:Person A: "Hey, is this a good idea? You're a square that jumps around dodging obstacles like spikes and fire, and you try to reach the other side of the room. I've got a demo here: -some url-"Person B: "No. It's been overdone. This game would NEVER be fun. I'm not going to even bother downloading it."I just described Jumper!.MOST IMMATURE:Person A: "Hey lol omg, I was liek, 4 real? omg omg lmao!"Please, don't use lol and other chat speek a lot. A girl I know uses them a lot and I can't help but think she's giddy at all times.Me: "Hey, are you going anywhere this summer?"Her: "lol no!"MOST MISUNDERSTOOD:Person A: "Is it possible to make a GM game on a console?"Person B: "Yeah."Person A: "How?"Person C: "No, you can't."Person B: "Well, you could use a .dll."That was built up stress.

the "MOST IRRITATING" is the one I see the most. People think a .dll will solve all their problems.
I don't really hate newbies…. so long as they be quiet and search the forums before posting.
Yeah, I get sick of the people who think DLL's can solve every problem… even those best solved in GML. I've never seen any of these games be released, but if I did I would probably fall out of my chair laughing at the 20-odd DLL's included with the game.
The other thing though is that Jumper itself is an incredibly basic game, more basic than Mario Bros. In many cases, making a clone of it isn't really the intention of people, but any game that's a basic platform game looks like a Jumper clone because of it's simplicity.
Yeah. I think that Jumper should be pinned and it should say "DO NOT MAKE A GAME THIS BASIC YOUR YOU"LL GET FLAMED" as the title.
