Tool - Reflection
I have come curiously close to the end, downBeneath my self indulgent pitiful hole. Defeated IConcede and move closer. I may find comfort hereI may find peace within the emptiness. How pitiful. It's calling me…And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping. The moon tells me a secret. My confidant.'As full and bright as I am, this light is not my ownA million light reflections pass over me'It's source is bright and endless. She resuscitates the hopelessWithout her we are lifeless satellites drifting. And as I pull my head outI am without one doubtDon't want to be down hereSoothing my narcissism IMust crucify the egoBefore it's far too lateI pray the light lifts me outBefore I pine away.…So crucify the egoBefore it's far too lateTo leave behind this place soNegative and blind and cynicalAnd you will come to findThat we are all one mindCapable of all that'sImagined and all conceivableJust let the light touch youAnd let the words spill throughJust let them pass right through,Bringing out our hope and reason. Before we pine away.…=============================This is one of the greatest albums created. This is without a doubt (in my mind). This album has allowed me to understand and realize my anger and move beyond, and just generally become a better person. Please experience it with me if you haven't already. It's your choice.I was just revisiting this album and felt like sharing with all of you.Close your eyes and let it take you. :) Reflection PS. The degraded sound quality in this video really takes away from this piece, it's still worth a listen.
i worshipped this album at one point, and Reflection was my favorite. i don't know how i feel about them now, but i definitely should go back for Danny's drumming.
try Isis if you haven't heard them, their build-up structure takes a lot from Tool, particularly that song.I shall give it a listen. :)
I really love tools sound. I don't really like their stuff before this album probably because of the same reason I like this album so much; I suppose it was Maynards was of moving beyond his anger. Very therapeutic. So what it Isis anyways? A band?i like early Tool but in a different way, angry music is just fun to listen to.
Isis is a band, they are more or less treated as Tool's successors. they're known for having massive closers like Garden of Light and Hym.Of course anger is all part of the healing process. I just rather enjoy the self realization of Lateralus.
Took a listen to some Isis stuff and read up on them a little. I'm diggin it so far I must say but must allow more time.SUCK AND
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKDanny Carey (Tool's drummer) is possibly the only good thing to come from my home state of Kansas.Yeah, he is incredible at his craft.
