well yeah that's the rationalist response, the viewpoint that states mind is a slave to matter, not vice versa. but such is the power of rationalism, it can reduce our most potent experiences to just "ehh, chemicals".
I believe that love will render us capable of time travel, in the sense that a perfect society built around love, will access scientific advancements more rapidly.
