Blipt (Selected songs from 2005-2010 (yes, ME SINGING!))

Posted by The Avatrol on May 22, 2012, 7:35 p.m.

I have compiled 12 songs recorded between 2005 and 2010. Many of the tracks have been heard (some are named different than at the time of previous release), but a few have never been heard up to now by anyone but me. The tracks go surprisingly well together (in my opinion). The production is often lo-fi and gritty, the vocals are often lost under walls of distortion and I even used a shitty speaker as a microphone in a couple of the songs (yes you can do that).

The lyrics for every track is available if you click on the individual tracks to listen to the album. I encourage people to read the lyrics if they cannot understand what I;m saying as I feel my songwriting is often the strong point to many of the tracks.

Click the image to navigate to the album, you can stream the entire thing for free, or pay .20 USD per track or 2.00 USD for the entire album!

Track-list:

1. Hello Sleepy Eyes

2. Dark Day (previously unreleased)

Music is good and unique. But I can tell that the background for the site is made with basic gimp effects. :|

"good and unique" is a little vague don't you think? I was expecting input as to how people felt about the music more so than the background image of the website. I will admit though, I did throw it together perhaps a bit hastily. I'll try to come up with something better..

"Good and Unique" is a compliment, it doesn't refer to it being "mainstream" or the "same" as a lot of music is already.

Your music has a great style of Distortion, it sounds like you knew what you were doing; so that's good!

I think you matched/implemented your singing into your music very well.

I previously liked your other album more, due to it being more beat/ambient..

But it's always good to change up styles.

Listening to this right now. Strong opener. I think I hear some MBV influences, heh. Synths and guitar sound great. Vocals seem a bit buried, but I guess that's just shoegaze. You sound like Bradford Cox sometimes.
