It is coming along very nicely, i have implemented DF81's WinSkin, and found a skin that suits the game just fine!

You will have to wait for the next version release to see what it looks like!

Currently I have added an inventory items system, with picking up and dropping off items, using SJF's inventory example, but modified to suit my needs.

It's way too short from what I'm used to :(

That happens to me. When I have my hair cut it's always done really short, but then I just let it grow for ages. =D

Looks like something from Visual Basic. It doesn't happen to be Visual Basic does it?

The menu bar and buttons look like VB's.

Huh? The menu bar and buttons look like any other program from Windows XP.

^ Lol Poly, that's because VB is a standard XP programming language, like C++

As in, how could you determine that it's made in Visual Basic just by looking at the buttons, since they're standard in all Windows XP programs?
