Football Blog Week #1 [Re-Do]

Posted by Theonlywonderboy on Aug. 18, 2006, 1:11 p.m.

Hey it's theonlywonderboy here and I'd just like to say ouch. I'm soar as hell but big deal becasue I finaly got a 2 day break from football. Anyway here's how our practises went from day to day

Day 1:I was a little tired after waking up at 7:00 to get ready for an 8:00 practice but I had gone to bed early the night before. I was excited and nervouse about the first day a practise since no one aculay thought I'd play. We picked out jersies and I got 22. Someone already had 64 :(. Anyway we practiced with no pads so that was cool. We didn't realy do any conditioning. First we did our warm up lap around the 1/4 mile track. Then we did Running Skill Drills like high knees and backwards run. Next we split into 2 groups, Skill positions with one coach and linemen with Mr.Johnsen. He's an awsome teacher so it was cool to have him as a choach. Anyway after we went over to him we went over the basic offensive lineman blocks. Those consite of reach right/left, blast, G, and Go. I practiced and left gaurd becasue I'm big but there are a lot of kids that are bigger then me. Finaly the whole team went to the endzone and we did sprints. If anyone went offsides then we had to do 5 push-ups. At the end of he day I was a little tired but it wasn't that bad

Day 2: Exactly the same as day one.

Day 3: Exacrly the same as day one/two

Day 4: So we finaly started to use pads. Well upper pads so we practiced with shoulder pads and that was it. We did all the same things but there were some new things. The first differance was we started using the sled. It was cool but our sled sucks and of course there getting a new one next year :P. After we did that for a while we worked on our defence. We had the team slip up on offens and deffence. Then we went through the plays at full speed but no tackeling so that was cool. I was playing left defensive gaurd the whole time. When we were done I was so sweaty you could squeeze the sweat out of my Jersy.

Day 5: Hell day is what I'd like to reffer this day to. One coach had to go away for the long weekend so the entire team had one coach. He thought know would be a good time to do conditionsing. That bitch. I mean I don't hate Mr.Johnsen for that I mean I understand but still. Anyway there was a lot of running and I mean a lot. We had some dicks that would't shut up so we had to run sprints for 7 minutes. Luckely after 5 minutes os sprinting Mr.Johnsen said we could stop running if everyone did a 20 yard bear crawl without anyone falling. Those things are bitches. You have to crawl on your hands and feet and your knees can't touch the ground. I thought there was no way all of us would get it with out falling but we were able to so that was cool. Later we did some blocking drills and stuff and then we did that one split teams and I was on defense again so I'm wondering If I'm gonna start there. Anyway at the end of practice we ended up doing like 14 sprints becasue so many people were being retards.

Anyway the first week was okay until day 5 but hey it can only get better, right? Right? Oh come on
