So… I've decided to finish making the game Sarax. The game I started working on 5 years ago. It's an action platformer and you play as Sarax. I think there are over 80 levels and 10 bosses. It's a nice game, I know that I can make a better game now with 5 years of experience. But before I start making new, more awesome games I've got to finish this one. It will probably not be played by many but if I don't finish this I'll be letting myself down.
So… 5 years, what to expect? Well you can check out my previous entries… two years old entries where I explain the game.I'm currently working on the final boss fight, trying to make it as epic as I can.Here are some eye candy:A ship.I upgraded some graphics.And finally a pic from the intro of the final boss fight.I'll release the game in a couple of weeks. This I promise. Both you and myself.Over and out.
You went wild with the air-brush, I see.
Lol on you sir. Well, that is one 5 year old background.
This could be the next Cave Story! (since it was made in 5 years too)
Make the mountains more angular instead of rounded. Use solid rounded clouds, that would be easy and look better. The gradients are nice on the mountains.
Looks good for the most part. I think the gradients on the HUD look pretty fugly though.
Scott_AW is crazy, leave the clouds as is. I think they look fine. Solid rounded clouds would look a little bit too cartoonish. He has a point about the mountains tho… ahahahahahahaha…Individual elements have completely different styles - e.g. the three ships look totally different in terms of colour, style, and saturation. It makes the game look a bit like it's using sprites from random games.
Forget the cloud part, it was late.
@Cesque:
Hah, the different styles is because I've become a better pixel artist. Some grahpics are brand new and some were made 5 years ago. I'm not going to upgrade or downgrade any of the graphics though.
