Halloween Game Competition?

Posted by Toast on Sept. 24, 2011, 3:34 p.m.

So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing another Halloween themed game competition like there was in 2008?

That competition was won by JW's 10800 zombies, so it was pretty successful by any rate.

If there's enough interest to do this I'd be willing to put in a first prize worth ~$30 or something… maybe if other people would be willing to donate it could be worth more. And it would be also cool if we could award unique badges like the ones in the 2008 comp.

Obviously in this competition the "theme" is going to be Halloween (or anything in the horror genre). The deadline would be 30th October, so that the games would be released for voting on the 31st, where you'll pick your favourite.

So, what I would like to know:

-Good idea?

-Would you be interested in taking part?

-If so, would you want the time limit to be a month long (October) or shorter?

64digits - so lazy events aren't annual but tri-annual.

Tootles!

I'm in.

So long as "generic zombie shooter" counts as halloween.

I like this idea.

can we start as early as possible though? because I think October is going to be a busy month D:

@colseed I was thinking of starting 1st October at the earliest really. Gotta give enough people a chance to see this first, then give everyone the same start date so they're not disheartened. My advice would be to just enter what you can.

But yaaaaaay

Oh and zombies are fine obviously.

dude i'm up for it. the time limit sounds good. 64 hours is TOO short, and a month is still very short but could still result in some great stuff.

I like the idea of a themed competition like this.

Love to participate. Limiting to a month or even a few weeks would probably ask for much higher quality than 64 hours. However, the rush behind the 64 hour comp was a great way to keep focus and in turn get much more done.
