RPG4D judging suggestions

RPG4D Standalone Banner Request

RPG4D could use a standalone banner so that we can use it to advertise the competition, put it in your signatures at other forums, etc.

The one I have on the competition page doesn't have any information about the competition on it (it doesn't even say that RPG Four Digits is a competition), so isn't really suitable for that. Plus it's hardly very good anyway, so if someone makes a new one I'll replace it.

Seeing as I have no graphical skills at all, I'm going to ask you guys if you could come up with something!

Ideally the banner should have the competition name (or "64digits" and the competition theme if you prefer), mention that it is a game making competition and have the dates and/or duration of the competition.

Judging Panel Suggestions

So I've decided that the competition will have a judging panel involved in some way, who will either fully or partially decide the winners.

Preferably the panel will consist of famous indie game developers, people whose opinion will be both well respected and unbiased. And if they've made RPGs, that would be a bonus I guess.

So I'd like to ask who you would like to see judging, if you could pick any game developer, artist, composer, etc. Think ambitiously.

(Well, not too ambitiously. First person to suggest Shigeru Miyamoto gets punched in the face)

Do the asking then!

Quote:
For the second round, I propose you consider and contact (individually) the posters over at Indiegames (Tim W., Cassandra Khaw, etc). They'd make good judges for the panel.

"Can you judge our competition? Oh by the way, it's in 3 months. Why am I asking you now? That's a good question."

And the answer is pretty obvious: Because the competition is about to start/has just started, and we'd like to know if you can be on the panel in advance. If you agree, we'll send you a reminder right before the end. Etc.

As opposed to "LOL we had this 3 month long competition with big prizes but now we have no idea who's going to be the judge so PLEASE HELP" a few days before the end…

I was just gonna wait a month or 2. Frankly I can't be bothered right now.

…seriously? You can't be bothered to organize a vital part of the contest in a timely fashion?

WFS. Get bothered ASAP, Toast.

I'd suggest to be your speaker on your behalf, but I hate Notch.

What if no one agrees to judge? Are you going to judge all 3 games by yourself?

This is why you do things in advance!

A month before the end is perfectly timely. I did the entire competition in less than a month, didn't I? In fact I got shouted at for announcing too early.

I've got university for the next month, then nothing for 4 months. Call it time management.

JW/Cactus is a good shout.

We should do it this way: every 64d member gets one indie developer they have to stalk until they want to judge.
