SUBMISSION OPEN, CLICK HERE FOR HOW TO SUBMIT

Old post, use newest page with submission info for all competition discussion:

Seeing as new members are consistently posting short blogs in the RA along the lines of "I am making an RPG like somethingorother kthxbai", I've decided to satisfy their urges here. To clarify, blogs in the RA (the Recent Activity Feed, in the right sidebar) must be longer than a few sentences, unless you're posting some other media (pictures/music/videos/games). You are also not allowed to blog in the RA more than once every 24 hours.

You can talk about initial ideas or progress here, unless you have enough to talk about to make your own blog. You are not required to post your progress, this is simply to keep the RA free of pointless blogs.

As RPG4D entry is nearly closed and the page has a bazillion comments (over 1000?), we'll also phase out the original page and use this page for any further discussion of the competition, until I open submission at the start of July.

LET IT REACH 1K.

LOCK AT EXACTLY 1K.

Fuck you humans and your perverse fascination with powers of 10

We could always go all programmer nerd and lock it at 1024.

With the current rate of entries it'll almost definitely pass 1k. So what Toast said.

Also, my RPG will be 3d; there will be lasers and a big open city. Also the city that the game consists of is built on a line, making it an on-line game. Who knows what you will encounter?

I guess I'll do this real fast then.

My game's set in a parallel world that steals from other worlds, including landscapes and people. The elite race there takes people in hopes of using them to tap into parts of the world that are otherwise inaccessable.

The game revolves around choice and tradeoffs. Any difficult choice will have effects that last throughout the game.

There are eight classes, two durable, two ranged, two melee, and two magic.

There will likely be a multiplayer element that, in the style of Dark Souls, allows you to summon other players to tackle a boss. Aiming for a high difficulty too, so that'll be fun.

Probably won't say much else about it.

Lol +1 to you good Sir Steven though I think I might have OCD. Oh goodness what have I done!?

We could just lock it at a completely arbitrary time for no reason at all, as if to stick a small metaphorical wrench in as many tangentially associated systems as possible.

Oh, and my game is one of those ones that seamfully combines interpersonal relationships, morality and principle (or the idea that they're arbitrary, artificial, and/or antiquated), irritating hallucinated voices, espionage, flying car chases, and (of course) urban warfare. I predict that it may be near complete by the year it takes place, 2142.

I made this rough mock-up the other day…I find it tempting to finish.

@Capt. Samuel L. Sheppard: Shit be all brieeeet. Nice trees though.
