Ok, so as most of you know, html and bbcode have been disabled thanks to certain people publicly abusing some exploits they found. Because of that, I will be posting this blog without formating.
Battle Legends Online is going okay, I think I will probably work on it more today. What I want to know is for melee, what type of skills would you like to see for it? I mean, would you think that players would like one "melee" skill that covers all melee combat, or multiple skills for it, like attack, defense, and strength. The current skills that are going to be in the game are the following: attack, strength, defense, range, agility, hunting, gardening, crafting, woodcutting, fishing, and cooking.I am thinking that for combat, you will be able to either right click, or hold control and normal click. When you are weilding archery items, when you right click (or hold control+click), the arrow will fire in the direction of where you clicked. When you are weilding a melee weapon and right click (or hold contol+click), your player will swing the weapon, or fight with it in whatever way it is supposed to. I think that to fish and cut down trees, you will face the water or the tree and hold control. If all of this is made to work this way, I think that it will give a fairly real-time game play instead of a click and wait type of game play. Tell me what you think of this.It would be cool if some more people joined the forums at http://blonline.freehostia.com/smf. That is the forums, the normal site is just http://blonline.freehostia.com/. On the normal site, everything works except for logging in. There are some screen shots and stuff there. In other news, well, like nothing. I had some friends over and we messed around last week. This is my last day of Christmas Break D=. <('_')> Don't dis the elf.
In my opinion, those attack, defense and strength are more like physical abilities, not "skills". Or at least strength is. You should separate those.
Skills are like how much you know about something and how good you can do it.Physical abilities affects on skills. I.E. If you don't have enough strength, you can't cut wood well. You just don't have enough power to cut through it.So basically you are saying that I should keep all of those skills in, and not just make one melee skill.
You should make basic physical attributes, like strength, agility, intelligence and so on.
And skills like hunting, crafting and woodcutting as different things. They can't be counted as skills both.Physical abilities affects greatly to skills.Think Oblivion.
Think any commercial RPG game.
=P Okay, thanks guys.
