Hey,
I've been working hard at modeling a Sukhoi Pak Fa (Su-50). I finished the modeling part yesterday, I am just now in the middle of texturing. Here's a blender concept render, done with the new Blender 2.66: The dotted line details were very tedious. Thankfully I've only had to do them on one side. Still have to do a little more dotting, and possibly some specularity mapping (fingers crossed that Unity Free allows this), as well as some finer details and a decay/damage layer.I'm going to have to go through this process with the F-18 as well, and a couple other jets, to amp up the quality. All for nowCheers!
It's definitely still in progress.
Really cool, actually. My only suggestion is to work on the front end more, it seems a bit too narrow and unproportional
And a bit over beveled.
Apparently a Sukhoi Pak Fa isn't that rounded?lolwat plane r u guys lookin at
cause that model looks pretty close to mehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sukhoi_T-50_Beltyukov.jpgand if this is the same model he was working on in the last blog, i'm pretty sure he's going from some kind of schematics reference…my only complaint would be that the cockpit looks strangely flat, but i suspect that's either the texture or the camera angleYou…
I like you, Jack.it's probably because the real life picture has more detail allowing me to get a better scale, where as his model looks like it wold be like 6'x3'
I have definitely been following a schematic. Maybe the depth of field is throwing things off? And there are no other object references. It looks kinda like a scale model in a lightbox right now, but that's going to be changing very soon.
Edit: Darthvender - Thanks man! :DThat's a nice plane you have there… but it doesn't hold a candle to my plunger:
Seriously though, it looks great so far.Lookin' great so far.
I always admire those able to actually use Blender. I could never use it for shit except sculpting.RC - it needs a toilet :P, also thanks.
Cyrus - Close. I want it to edge more on the realistic side, and not so much the the arcade side.Eva - I had about six months in 2011 where I spent the grand majority of my time learning blender, but I was modeling within the first month. All it takes is to watch a few tutorials.
