A Month Later

I just realized it's been a month since I've made a blog post (OK, a day 'till). I still come here all the time, I guess I just forgot. Anyways, I've been thinking it would be cool to start making some music, so does anyone know any good (FREE) music making programs?

I really haven't been doing much in the line of Game Maker, I just don't get any inspiration. I made a crappy version of Lunar Lander though. I did, however, start a game where, basically, you're a snowball that rolls around (platformer), and as you roll on the snow, you grow in size. I have the basics done, I just need to program the moving on slopes, and add some elements like trampolines, etc. Does anyone have any ideas?

What else… does anyone play SourceForts? If so, what's your name so I can play with you? I think that's about it.

SourceForts is such an awful mod. Did you just get into it recently?

SourceForts?

It's a mod for HL2 where before each round, you build a fort using blocks, then you spawn inside the map and the enemy has to take your flag, but has to get through your fort first.

No, I've been playing for like a month now, since I got HL2. What don't you like about it?

SourceForts is fun, SJF! It gets a bit dull after awhile, but it's definitely fun for a HL2 mod.

For good, free music-making, Google "Anvil Studio." It's especially easy if you know how to play drums, guitar, piano, or bass, because it can emulate playing all of those.

I just didn't like how it was always the same battle. No matter who you are against, it's the same thing every time. There are maybe three different types of forts people build.

First-time players build walls, better players build mazes, and the best sometimes make climbing forts that are easy to get into the base but hard to get out. It doesn't matter though, since its still the same when you get right down to it. There isn't much of an opportunity for strategy at all.

Well, if you find a select group of people who actually understand the game well enough to come up with original forts, designs, and obstacles, the game tends to be more fun. It's just hard to find a group like that.
