OKay, so I picked up GameMaker for the first time a few weeks ago, when I was told that it's what we would be using for a (big surprise here) game development class. Today, I got the specification for the final assignment. It includes using various features, and so on, but basically, the assignment is, "make a platform game." Now, we don't have to do anything too fancy, and it only needs to have two rooms (to demonstrate that we understand how to change rooms, if that gives you an idea of how simple the class is), but I, being the fool that I am, am going to cram as much stuff in there as I can. It's due on March 6th, so I guess I've got *checks calendar* 12 days in which to do this. Ah, but now the clock is ticking. To work I go. Wish me luck! ^_^
Awesome, you're going to completely own everyone. =)
Others in the class, definitely, since most of them probably won't try to do anything beyond the minimum requirements. Still, it'll be hard to make a platformer in 12 days that I'll actually be happy with. I guess we'll see. ^_^ I plan on posting the resulting game (probably more of an engine demo, but whatever) afterwards.
All I can say is… Awsome.
Good luck on that mayn…. (not like you actualy need it)lol post it here when its done mayb as a WIP
Haha, you'll totally kick everyone else's ass.
OoH! You can use PLATFORMED sprites!
i wish there was a game making class in my school, especially if it used GM =)
There's one (obviously) at my school that uses GM, and a more advanced game class is being introduced next quarter that uses Python. I'm going to be a guinea pig. ^_^ Unfortunately, I probably won't have alot of time next quarter to do extra stuff in games. I also have a big project class, so I'll probably be doing that, mostly. It should be fun too though. Let's just say that it involves Dance Dance Revolution… and lasers! ;)
