Gun Princess Zero: The first finished game in the series

So the 18th GMC Jam just ended, and I randomly made a game in the GP series because the theme (Cold War) kinda fitted.

Basically, you run around and shoot stuff. It's kinda short and unbalanced since it's made in 72 hours, but it might be fun if you're into running around and shooting stuff. I'm not looking for feedback or anything, so only play it if you feel to run around and shoot stuff.

And I also notice your autocorrect is on :P

Sure, I'm pretending I'm a corrupt Icelandic cop, but this is the first time someone has called me something police-related ("Yard" as in Scotland Yard). x3

Ertu íslensk? Ég vissi þú ert skandinavísk, en ekki þú ert íslensk.

(my apologies for my Icelandic I'm still learning)

No .midi files and no forced fullscreen on load.

Automatically we've earned ourselves the 1.5 stars the vast majority of Scary Four entries missed out on because of this.

Not a bad little game. Beat it in 28 minutes or so. But it certainly wouldn't be a Yal game without a small bit of design-related quibbles.

The list is short this time, I promise.

Namely that while this time there's really only one spot of backtracking, it occurs at the 75% point of the game and demands you return to the first zone. It's minorly annoying to spend 5 minutes churning back to the entrance of the game brushing aside all the enemies you've encountered up until then because they're not close to a threat and any HP you lose is very easily replenished by the frequent save points.

This, and the fact that the final boss is the only one without a save point directly before it. Why on earth would you do this? It's a good thing I had the insight to buy three health potions beforehand.

The game's difficulty is alright; I hit a small snag on the lava-based boss because I only brought 400 HP with me going in. I still beat it, though, with thorough application of the Cave Story Fireball Simulator. (Which is OP, by the way.)

Everything else is pretty standard Yal fare. Solid and workable gameplay, that retroesque presentation, and a decent amount of content (especially considering the working time.)

I have played it and I loved it! I also beat it. I love the NES themed graphics and the military themed music. The ending is really nice, too. I really like the player's character and the fact that she is larger in this game than the player's characters are in your other games. However, I am really surprised that you did not add this to the normal game listed that this site has. Anyways, I hope to see more of your great games.
