But it;s Funny as hell.

(I don't know the code to make it show up Please help!)

watch it lmao. well it might seem as funny as it is to me but whatever.

So i've been introduced to gamemaker 6.1 by a friend and i found this site mistakenly by google. it was kinda funny i was searching up random shit and it came up with this. umm there;s kind of something messed up here:

http://64digits.com/games/index.php?cmd=view_game&id=4814

so it;s kind of messed up. and it let you edit the thing and what not. so i was really confused.

=P

Otherwise i'm learning scripting as of today.

Trying to figure out all this shitz* Oh yeah are we able to swear in blogs? Lol. i hope i don't get in trouble for saying that then =X

Oh Well . Back to gamemaker who else uses

6.1? Cause im working with advanced mode not that no one else uses it but i was looking at older versions and i saw (data files) what happened to that? cause if they still had that it might be a little easier.

Oh yeah, i need a script for finding text files or anything and stuff.

Because when i do than a error comes up: this file is not for read.

please help much appreciated!

actually, the page looks like this no matter what number you put as long as it doesn't actually exist yet.
(that game doesn't exist)

I use gm6.1, I had some problems upgrading to gm pro, and in gm7 it takes a little longer to load the game which wastes a lot of time for an excessive tester like me.

If you get the 'file is not opened for reading' error then that file doesn't exist. also make sure that the code you're using is simular to:

Quote:

file=file_text_open_read("/rawr.txt")

file_write_text(file,"bleh")

not sure if that's right, I don't use file modifying functions much.

you are allowed to swear in blogs, just not excessivly.

I like 6.1, I can have it installed on a usb mem stick and cart it around freely.

Welcome to 64D!

Yeah, you can swear but don't overdo it. That just makes you look like a right idiot. Also, have language set to British English sometimes since there are quite a few colourful English types lurking around.

In GM6.1, data files have been replaced by the include system. Go to Game Options (down at the bottom of the left-hand window) and click on the Include tab. You can do all your data file stuff there. If you want to include fonts - frankly, if you're not using custom fonts somewhere you're not optimising your game design - you should use the Font system. Ok? PM me if you have any more questions.
