Weaver, Burst, etc.

The present demo of Weaver is here. Demo is a very loose term, in this case meaning "look at my title screen and the bare-bones beginnings of a menu." The date lies, but what I've uploaded tonight hardly has enough to it to qualify as a new version, as it essentially is a bug fix with one minor thing added to it, and I resampled the song at a higher quality but in mono, so the same size file sounds better and works better with the system I've set up. But, yes, at this point, it's all eye candy, but enough so that it shows that i've done something worth while in GM this week.

Still using GM 6, mostly. I confess I have a less than legal copy of 7, as I still can't say I totally support Yoyo and their decisions. Ultimately, a legal jump to GM7 will be necessary, but for now 6 suits my needs and 7 exists purely to help others with their problems and to compile GM6 projects that still work for Vista functionality.

I still feel no urge to update to Vista, either. Probably because I'd have to upgrade past PhotoShop Elements or get version 5, which either way is expensive. Everyone tells me to pirate the CS3 beta, but I feel I've been criminal enough lately as it is. >.> PhotoShop, Elements 2 (or 4, which looks terrible so I don't use it) or not, is probably one of the few things on this computer that's legal and not freeware. PSE, GM6, and Corel. well, and Windows. Do things that came with the PC count? XD

I'm a dirty boy. Or have no money, rather, and require something better than MS Paint. If I made that sort of cash, i'd gladly drop full price for CS3 when it comes out, because i use it enough to justify that. Heck, I'd get the whole suite, 'cause I need all of it, but as it stands I make 90 bucks a paycheck and the comic isn't exactly a money-maker, either.

but enough of that. on a more quiet note, Burst has taken a small step forward tonight and perhaps will see the light of day, as I've kinda removed large sums of the ambition behind the project and scaled it down to a more realistic idea that might actually happen. More on that as it develops, but I will state that it is a three-person collaboration between myself and joshyboy with the artistic hand on Liz Hopkins, who is amazing in every respect and should give the game just the look I'm shooting for with her excellent touch. It will be formatted for widescree, unlike most projects, because, frankly, that's what we have in this house on the computers all around except the one in my little brother's room.

His rabbit died today. It's his birthday. That really sucks.

In non-Gm/PC/general bitching news, the comic is running almost-weekly (I've hit a minor block presently, but I think it's more artistic than anything else, and hopefully once my acedemics are caught up it will fix itself), if not mroe often, thanks to my falling back on a manga style. Screen tones are exceptionally faster than colors, or even grayscale, simply because of how Manga Studio does things, and that's helped me get them out considerably faster. However, readership has sunk since, leaving apparently only my more devoted fans. i'm kind of sad one color update a month seems more important to most of my fan base than one or two updates a week in black and white, as I really would like to get the story moving at a decent pace for a change, and I've no intention at this point to stop, because being able to crank these out feels GREAT. Perhaps some of you can offset this.

Sort of a niche comic, i guess, but I've yet to get a negative response really from anyone who's given it a fair chance. So please do give it a couple chapters to grow on you. :) I promise not to disappoint. If I do happen to disappoint, you'll get all your money back. i can safely say this because it costs nothing to read.

Once you've familiarized yourself with the first two or three chapters (which aren't very long, even together), an untold segment has just started appearing as a voting bonus that hopefully i can start updating with new pages. this could spread new pages out a bit, but at the same time at least people would know when to expect new vote incentives. So feel free to check that out, too, as it costs you nothing and helps get me out there.

The forums are pretty much devoid of GM users at this point, but i certainly wouldn't mind having someone else there who understood anything that came out of my mouth when it came to developing these things. We've got myself, a Game Design major, and a programming major in there. I'm the only one who really does anything. Look at my games here, and that should tell you all you need to know. XD AIN'T MUCH.

So, let's check the list… project updates, check. Spontanious ramblings, triple check. Shameless plug, check.

I do believe I'm out of subject matter, and must now go to bed. I'm sure i could rant about my dreams, but I tend to do that in secluded blogs in obscure corners of the internet because, honestly, nobody cares about my strange REM adventures. well, most people don't anyway. i'm forming a book out of them. Slowly. ever so slowly.
