*poke* A SPLODE?!

I'm… afraid… to touch… anything…

is the site stable for the time being? XD Seems every time I check in it's dowwwwwn, so… I was starting to worry. *does not want to go back to GMG*

I've not tinkered in GM much, in large part because I've got like… nothing but bad news.

We'll start with the least anticipated: Weaver. Weaver is *stuck.* And on a rather simple concept, so maybe someone can help. I'm trying to come up with a save/load function, by which I mean open and read a file in a manner that doesn't involve sucking up *every ounce of your CPU* for a higher-level song by loading every single step in the thing. my best idea would work in terms of reading whatever line I have to in the file and working with that, but… I've very bad issues with opening files to be read, as in the past it rarely has worked for me, and when it does, it won't for anybody else. in any case, I've still some kinks to work out in the plan, never mind the execution, but… craps. I'm nervous to even aim to.

But it must be done simply because of the nature of Weaver… working with custom level editors and what not isn't very avoidable at this point if I want to be able to test anything in a timely manner or ever get a single stage done.

And now, the one nobody wants to hear: I'm scrapping the whole HPE battle system. Codewise.

Here's the deal: HPE has moved exceptionally slow. I've got overworld work done out the wazoo, but the battle system is still a dysfunctional crap mound. I may salvage what will work in the new layout, but rather than cut to a whole new scene just for battle, I'm just going to have the overwolrd map convert to the battle grid, and fights will take place there, with teh same size sprites, which will, yes, be less detailed, but flow is spared somewhat, and… if things work out it will work better for game pacing anyway. More on that at a later time.

So yes, no good news on the GM front. Everything else is going well, but I don't think people particularly care about that too much in the GM community front…

Don't worry. The 64Singularity has stabilised for the time being. It shouldn't collapse for a while now.

File_text functions are weird._read is auto,_write isn't

I wish at times 64D was more GMcentered, but it all works out how it is
