What up you guys? So I took some suggestions from the the last blog and made a number of changes to the game I'm working on that make it a lot more playable.
First and foremost, I ditched the mouse controls in favor of a keyboard-only method. The mouse felt clumsy and was difficult to manage near the edges of the screen. The new system lets you target the enemy closest to the reticule by holding control. Now, this might sound cheap but it actually brings a lot more balance to the game as it allows you to lock on like the enemies have always been able to do. Weapons are on their way to being more balanced (shotguns are much less OP). Tweaked the health, and you now start a level higher to make the beginning easier (and more interesting). AI is a bit better in picking targets now, and doesn't have any bias towards the player.Oh, and new sounds :)http://aeron.uni.cx/sc/All in all I would say the game is much improved over the last version, but it's still a work in progress. Yes, it's still a bit difficult, but that makes it much more exciting as you get better. What do you think? Feedback is good :)
Love the voice. Oyster stealthboy!
Now it plays like something halfway between Ocarina of Time (if you press Ctrl) and Asteroids (if you don't). Still cool :)Cool.
well done, I've been having a lot of fun playing this :D
updates are good too, I notice a number of improvements from yesterday.
