I'll Stab Mozilla With a Spoon!

Seriously… Firefox is crashing. Often. And I'm not just talking a-

Yep, it crashed while typing it. The little hyphen denotes where it crashed while I was typing.

It can crash as often as 5-8 times in a single sitting of use - that can USUALLY range from 2-5 hours (with OR without breaks in between). This didn't happen with Firefox 3.x It crashed but not like this. It occasionally did.

Firefox 4 betas/release candidate(s)? Flawless. No problems at all.

Firefox 4? Nope. Go to your room and have a time out. BAD firefox. :(

Honestly? I'd rather not use Opera and DEFINITELY not Chrome (bad experience with both). I'm using……

wait for it…

wait for iiiit……

…..Internet Explorer 9.

Somehow I'm using it. And I'm liking it. I feel like I betraying a browser I've liked but… Until Mozilla get's their crap together I'm using IE for anything important enough to not have crash on me.

Anyone have any ideas? Firefox's IRC channels had no help (ignored or stupid ideas that didn't work) and posting on the forums yields replies on how people have these problems… but no solutions. :/

FF4 works the same for me as FF always has - fine. It's just that some plugins out there make my FF run very slow. :(

Maybe it's a plugin that crashes your FF?

Haven't had any issues with Firefox 4 yet, besides having to restart it every 48-72 hours or so because of slowdowns with Flash player. Buuut that's Flash fer ya.

When it decides to not die on me, FF4 beta/RC/final runs fast, for at least 3 days.

As for crash prevention - I've tried disabling plugins, re-installing them, etc. etc… and to no avail.

Some people are saying it COULD be due to running Win7 x64 but… I do not know..

@ Cyrus: I'm too lazy to wait the few seconds it takes to boot up. So usually my PC can be on for quite a while. I believe the longest for me has been a month and a half. :P

Also: I find it funny that the amount of comments I returned to on this post at first (5) was the same amount it took for my previous journal to get in a few days. I feel so popular.

FFFFFFFF No. You guys are just bored because there's no more pretty pictures.

..Because I suck at coding and must re-code everything. EVERYTHING. COMPLETELY.

Well most of it anyway.

I hate firefox =/

Been using IE9 since the beta of it first came out.

I quit using Firefox late 2009 or early 2010 because it would crash at least twice a day. I switched to Chrome and it's crashed maybe once or twice since I've been using it.

I don't like Opera, Safari, or IE7 (who would like IE7 though?) and I haven't used any of the newer IE's so I don't know if they're any better.

I'd personally suggest Chrome, but to each his own, I guess. Use whatever works for you.
