..On Minecraft.
I'm on a few different random servers, messing around (by messing around, I mean walking around, petrified to do anything since I somehow end up causing trouble unintentionally LOL) and my screen keeps going fully black at random intervals, freezing and then resulting in me having to force quit the game.I looked on youtube for a few different remedies and they all pretty much resulted in me doing the same thing.…Which pretty much resulted in the same outcome as well - still dealing with an all black screen. And that's pretty annoying when I got it to not only make things, but also try to actually do things with others XDAny ideas that doesn't involve deleting the .minecraft folder, or the "version" file or anything like that?System:Windows 7 Ultimate x64Rating: 5.9AMD Phenom II x2 555 3.20 GHz8GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce GT 430
What's your viewing distance set to?
If it's on the farthest setting, then that's probably the issue (setting it to normal worked for me).But normal is sucky, i have this problem too.
I found that i had the 32 bit version of java on my 64bit laptop. Upgrading to the 64 bit version didn't fix it, but it DID make it happen less often.Huh…
I know at one point I had a problem where Minecraft would cause my screen to flicker solid light blue for anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes before returning to running like normal. It went away after a while with updates and such, so maybe it's something like that? :/I have this problem occasionally also.
Same processor, but only 2GB of ramNah I've had this for ages so its not an update, and mojang hasn't made any kind of acknowledgement that this problem exists
@ Rob: The ram was super cheap (I get a sweet discount at some things at the store I work at) so I was able to stock up.4x2GB FTW :D I do plan to eventually upgrade to a quad or if possible, a 6 core… As long as I have the cash. The same with the video card. I needed something fairly cheap, without it becoming absolute shit. And I must say, the GT 430 and the Phenom II x2 has served me phenomenally well, I must say.
Like colseed said, it's your view distance. Set it to normal if this is happening, no matter what your hardware is.
thing is, my brother, on our shitty desktop can run minecraft on far render distance for as long as he likes >:(
@fsx yeah, but like I said, normal is suckyI have this problem at random but infrequent intervals.
