If this blog makes it out there, I will honestly be incredibly shocked. I mean seriously shocked.
I'm working on a website (and slowly finding HTML and CSS to be easier than before, despite doing everything by hand, no dream weaver. Thats' right. No assistance, no items, one stock Notepad ++ final destination. Let's do this.)Suddenly an icon won't show up on the page (for lols I'm posting the W3C banner on the page since it follows everything correctly). I check youtube, not loading. 64 digits recent activity and active user panel shows nothing. google, nothing.Reset the router, nothing. Any ideas? (That is if you can even read this)
Are you shocked like this?
Let's hear some specs. Who's your ISP, for example? Manufacturer/age of your router? My router often cuts out for no reason, and the effect is worsened with more computers connected. I don't know if it's necessarily connected to your site unless you're running a server directly on your computer, in which case it might interfere with your wireless settings. For all purposes, I like using an FTP client to upload my files to for testing. I'm also familiar with development from Notepad.Obviously your internet sort of works, but it may be cutting out occasionally. Get us some updates if you get the chance. The web page developing part was just on the side. There's no server or anything - I don't even have the first page finished! I doubt it has anything to do with it, nor the web developing plugins for Firefox (Web Developer Toolbar, HTML Validator, etc) since IE isn't getting to any pages either - or horridly messing it up.
Specs:Verizon FiOS. never had problems with it,The router is going on 1-2 years, I dunno. As for the PC, it's connecfted via ethernet… the cord hasn't been moved a lot and even if it did, it wasn't bent in odd angles. looking at the wire as best as possible, I don't see any problems - neither are the connection to the PC or router.Out of chance I tried to type in the IP for my router… neither browser will access it. Firefox just won't even appear to change pages, and IE gives a "Cannot display the web page" error. As for web developing, I'll probably ask for some help with that at a much later time.BTW… Some pages load mostly well and others not at all.. YouTube barely loads fully and usually fails to load/gives an error on the video, etc. 64 digits looks fairly normal, however sometimes the recent activity and active user pane shows nothing. Most sites fail to fully work.
Sorry, the bit I mentioned on my experience with web developing was meant to troubleshoot your problem, not to come off as someone you should look to for help.
How about your ISP? I'm on Comcast and even just after buying a new router, I still had the same issues as before.Ive made my website with xhtml css php mysql and jquery with notepad++. Really good tool.
I like to assume that no one uses dreamweaver or front page, unless it's to use built in features like instant preview and immediate FTP upload.
For sites that don't load, try do a tracert (open the cmd prompt, then type "tracert www.w3c.org") to see if you ever get to the requested server.Try and ping your router as well (also if you have more than one router, it might not be just a 192.168.0.1 IP. Use ipconfig to find your Default Gateway, and ping that IP). If you use the -t flag on your ping, it will keep pinging until you ctrl+c. It might be helpful for you to keep that running in the background while you monkey with certain settings, so that you have instant feedback on if your change worked.Do you use a proxy?Everything seemed to go smoothly. And firefox/IE still had issues. I remember that I had this problem once before and just like last time, a restart fixed it. Everything is fine.
…Still dunno what the issue is though.
