This entails financial-related things, along with plugin rosters…
So as of now, the server is SORT OF in limbo. As it's my main PC, I don't want to leave it on 24/7 like I have so far - no issues as of now but my lack of money means I don't wanna screw up my first built PC. And my first semi-high investment as well.As I think I can also lower the power in a minecraft/simple web server, I also would wanna build/buy a "downgraded" system intended as a dedicated system. I have my eye on an ubuntu PC (only $80 or so, on clearance at the store I work at - mostly due to a missing power cord upon return (and given that most expect Windows or Mac, it's probably returned ONLY because it's Ubuntu). If not, then I'd stick with a low-end PC server. As of now, it's very hot thanks to summer. And whaddaya know - my room is the only bedroom in this house that lacks an AC to cool it. Even with the windows open (sun not directly shining in), the door open and the two fans I got blazing on high, my room stays hot - not good for a constantly running PC. Not to mention additional heat is added to the room itself from the fans blowing hot air away…So far everything is good - but since this is hosted on my own, I gotta also contribute to the house for the electric bill.If I don't get a better job/snag a few extra jobs, I may have to take the server offline. I don't feel right asking for donations but… if anyone DOES wanna help out, just contact me.ANYWAY: Server plugins:Browsing the list of plugins, I've seen an amazing list, and most seem rather awesome and they work together. However I'm debatting on having some unique plugins developed - allowing me to work with the plugins at my own pace, without waiting for updates if needed. Most plugins would almost mirror what I got already installed and then some but the idea is that they are specifically designed together so that they will work together 110%, without a doubt, if you know what I mean.Ultimately this means one of two things:I need a plugin manager to more or less help me out with the management of various plugins - at the very least, an adviser that can walk me through anything if need be. In addition, if someone is able to develop plugins for the server, it would be absolutely awesome. I have one guy willing to do some stuff but he would be learning at the same time. Perhaps having at least one other person who KNOWS this stuff well would come in handy for myself and the other guy.The main things to be covered by plugins would be:- Giving certain op commands (give, whitelist) without others (or adding commands with the same function) for staff members (admins, mods, etc).- Permission roster (perhaps a very basic one, something more basic than "Permissions"? Doubtful)- Color-coded chat/member names- Security/Monitoring program (aka BigBrother)- In additional to MinecraftViewer (for server banners), an expanded plugin for the Server Status indicator on my site (auto-displays picture for Online, Offline, Down, etc..)- Customizeable "kits" (aka gift packs that admins can give out to members)- Spawn setting (single spot spawn instead of a general area)- Protecting areas (non-deletable/destroyable)- Anti-mob spawn areas (ensures they won't spawn even in 0 light)- Spawn jail for "unwelcome" members (they can't escape, but others can enter and attack them as per the rules on my server)- Banning System- POSSIBLY some item mods inspired by the expanded 2x2 crafting grid (in the hopes that it'll be updated ALONGSIDE the current version rather than lagging 1-2 versions behind)- Forced Texture Pack- Forced skins (permissions dependent)- Message System (potentially client/server side mods - let's people get messages even when not on My server)- Re-Adding herobrine- Re-add herobrine again since Notch Decided to remove him twice… somehow.- …Okay the last two were jokes but whatever.- Any other ideas? Shoot them here and I'll consider them.
