Oh god, new idea time (and other ideas).....

I was thinking of a game of sorts that goes beyond the EXE. Sorta like an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) although not as… open, if I'm using the right terms? Like, you might have to go to different sites, PERHAPS contact certain people, download certain files in order to essentially complete the actual game.

Also as I type this, I'm harassing poor Josh with ideas. About a platformer game. Boredom + Thinking + Ideas = BAD BAD NEWS.

Unless you simultaneously run a highly successful TV series or announce a release of a highly anticipated sequel to a popular game… nobody will play that.

Hence why I said SORTA like an ARG. The basis for this game is somewhat inspired by those (as it doesn't just use ONE medium, or one way of giving you information but rather multiple forms) but by no means am I actually looking to make a full-featured ARG

Yes, but my point is, people won't bother going through a series of complicated actions on various sites (let alone contact different people) unless they're totally obsessed with whatever the content is related to.

TV shows like "CSI" and "Castle" try to make me believe there are "alternate reality games" on their own, but I refuse to believe that. In any case, it's not something for gamers. They're socially inept people who get stressed whenever they need to send e-mails to real people, I can't see them doing it as a form of entertainment.
