Stone swords take 3 hits… try to hit one by mashing your mouse button and back up as soon as you make contact. Wait a moment so his countdown goes down (if he doesn't explode) and run back, and be brave - mash that button, keep him in your cross hairs (or whatever else you have as a center point indicator) and deliver the last two blows. With an iron or diamond sword, you can make it work out quicker by just mashing and slaying one in two hits - when you see one, bum rush it like no tomorrow and destroy the hell out of it in two hits!
I like the part where you were panicking when the creepers were barely doing anything.

Tired, and I actually was getting screwed over by creepers before. Sometimes I curse a lot. Sometimes no. I also curse out creepers a lot. :/
