Punching bag >> windows

I'm gonna rant a little about a strange injustice going on in my dorm hall. The few weeks ago my brother and I wrote a number of annoyed but not quite threatening emails to the "dorm admin" email address. These included topics like the hinge windows being decades outdated resulting in easy breakins, two of three dryers for 200 residents being so busted that they actually soak your laundry for $1.00, the high-up lightbulb that I don't feel like replacing again even though its absence is turning me paler by the minute, and probably some other stuff that I don't feel like remembering since I'm now on spring break.

So, I get a response, but it wasn't very direct or expected. I wake up one Saturday and it sounds/feels like there's a damn earthquake under my bed because they were trying to drill a large steel frame on the other side of the wall next to my bunkbed. It so happens that I live next to small dorm gym, which isn't usually too bad unless some oddball is playing 80's pop or dance music, to which I respond by plugging in my little Crate practice amp, turning the midrange and volume to 11, and churning out some Iron Maiden tunes.

Anyway, this steel frame gets a large punching bag attached to it. The equipment in the little gym is pretty new, but this thing is WORTHLESS. The damn thing squeaks and rattles every time someone takes out the fury of their last failed midterm on it. The only advantage to this, is that the whole setup is so shabby that no one seems to want to hit it more than a few times and I can go back to my little assignment on triple integrals. So I guess no Rocky Jr. will emerge from that room anytime soon.

And…the moral to this story is DONT complain to your school using your school registered email address, or they will appear to resent you and give you another irritating problem to worry about. And definitely do not post the exaggerated story on the internet, where it stays forever.

By the way, just indicating that I'm resuming work on a 3D project. I'm working on the map designer/editor at the moment which has a 2D and 3D mode of viewing and its coming along well.

I have a punching bag in my room - it mustn't be on that hard, because the ceiling shakes when I hit it :/

I was listening to A Matter of Life and Death a minute ago, good Iron Maiden album. I think I like it more than Number of the Beast, though they're very different.

That's cool. Some of my favorites are still the albums Powerslave and Peace of Mind. Though Number of the Beast remains an awesome classic.
