another GM3D mess

working on a 3d room editor with Game Maker, that works for any project in Game Maker. doing it so creating my rooms will be easier than using GM's room editor which sucks for 3D. i'm gonna share it here to when it complete! very close to finishing a beta now :) (also it works a bit like minecraft… lol)

i'm sure plenty of others have already done something like this but since i have no internet, i can't rely on you GMers =P further more this project turned out to be a lot of fun! wish i could post a screenshot, but the project is on my desktop and i can only bring my laptop to the library. (i know should have thought ahead)

lol yeah i'm making great progress with this one. once again, i forgot to bring a snapshot =\

in the past couple days, i managed to add in support for many different shapes. not just blocks, you can add shapes of many sizes, and place them on the grid. everything is going so smoothly i'm quite proud =)

one more thing i want to add to this, is support for custom gm3d models, that way it can really give users full control of what their room is going to have. it has no limitations for size or object count, etc. though i've noticed, with GM3D it can't handle too many instances drawing 3d shapes, so it's up to the user how they're going to deal with that xD

for me i choose to build my rooms out of massively large pieces for floors, walls, so that i don't have to use many instances which keeps the rendering count low as well.

so far, you can add objects by choosing a name for it, choosing the texture, choosing the shape and than the size. then placing it anywhere on the grid, or adjacent to another object.

okay i'm DEFINITELY going to have a pic next time =P
