A new comp project (Third time's a charm)

Okay so i've been lazy… really lazy… but i'm back with yet another attempt at an RPG. this time scaling the game down massively to it's most basic elements. a world, a hero and lots of dungeons and monsters. that's pretty much all this is going to be.

above you see me playing around with randomly generating a world map sorta thing. the towns and dungeons will be generated on the map as part of it, so it'll all take place in one room inside Game Maker. (just too keep things simple)

It'll be standard turn-based RPG. 3 classes to choose from right now. You will be able to recruit NPC's to form a team. Each member has separate inventories. Stat system very simple: str, vit, mag, spd, hp, mp. leveling up increases your hp and mp, while also giving you stat points with a random chance. (very classic stuff)

since most of the work is already done, this should be fairly easy to pull off by the end of the deadline. just gotta work on the turn-based battles and menu elements for shops and stuff. most of this project's success will greatly depend on how good the world generating is. i'm gonna have to make sure dungeons are interesting and the landscape is good enough to want to explore…
