My attempt to recreate mb3 movement physics perfectly

Posted by djrellik on Aug. 30, 2006, 10:18 p.m.

Well some of you maybe already seen my mb3 game I was working on which I unfortunately stop working on it because of the crappy computer I had. Now that I have a new computer, I've been able to bring it even further by converting it to gm6 and in 60 fps which made me able to recreate the original physics as close as I could.

I have a screenshot for example of me testing jumping heights (in paint and it's probably the last time I'll use it to make a gif <_<)

Take a look at this topic to see it http://forums.gamemaker.nl/index.php?showtopic=233765

You can also look at my games to see the one before I convert it to gm6, it have real levels.

I'm a big fannn of the mario games so I hope your physics are like the real thing and not just a butchery :D.

Good luck!

No complaints here at all. Overall movement, and even things like the growth after a mushroom, and shooting fireballs seemed perfect. Nice work.

Heh, as you can see, I posted my comment a bit back. Very insane engine.

Wow. Its hard to tell which one is the real SM3! :O without looking at the bottom stuff of course. I think yours might actually look better.

Haha thanks. It's hard to do better than the original but I'll do my best to recreated something as close as possible. What I can do though is try to make my levels better. I'll also try to include songs from different games to make it look even better.
