—————————————————————————————–There. That's all of my progress, thus far. Deal with it.It's a sprite of a character (not the main character) and will set the artistic style for the rest of the game. Not giving characters arms makes animations much easier to create. I don't really know who this character is or what his role is in the game. I'm sure it will sort itself out. 2D or not 2D?My original plan was to go all 3D with this game because I wanted the over-world to play like Paper Mario. But that seems too ambitious, so it's just going to be a 2D sidescroller instead.Inverted EarthI have this idea for this fictional world where Earth is inverted and people basically live on the inside of a hollow planet with gravity pulling away from the center. Ask questions if you don't understand.Team-Turn-BasedLastly, this game will have turn-based combat and be focused around recruiting other people/creatures to join your team. I don't feel like writing or thinking right now so I'm not going to elaborate. Questions and suggestions are encouraged.
Inverted earth. Good idea!
gravitycentrifugal force pulling away from the center.@Rolf
Wouldn't it have to be rotating on infinite axes for the centrifugal force to be evenly distributed about the surface of a sphere?@ToastI know that it would be impossible for gravity to be in the opposite direction of the center of the object! Just imagine this planet exists in some universe that defies the laws of physics.Guys, there's a difference between science fiction and an altered game mechanic. Don't take it for more than it is.
Seeing as this idea resembles the Super Mario Galaxy gravity, also ask yourself if it's possible for gravity to originate from sub-sized asteroids, if it's supposed to be dynamic, or if someone can even fucking breathe in space. This is a game. We're supposed to forget about reality.!!!!!! (exclamations for added emphasis, and so nobody takes me too seriously)
