So this is what is becoming my yearly Reading Festival blog.
Blah blah blah, jokes are done now. :)So. I went to Reading Festvial. I got tonsillitis. I missed most of it. Damn. The few bands I did see, though, were:Dizzee Rascal - A great entertainer and really funny. The Libertines - My highlight of a depressing weekend. They were really, really good.Motion City Soundtrack - Also really good, got the crowd pumped even though they were the first act of the day.The King Blues - Again, excellent set. I'd only heard a couple of their songs before hand, but their other stuff was excellent as well.Foals - I only knew one song and they played it as their second tune, but really enjoyed their other stuff too.We Are Scientists - Really funny guys, and good music too.I missed all the headliners, Guns n Roses (who I wouldn't have watched anyway) due to working, and the others due to exhaustion from illness.Oh well!In other news, SSSPRO has had a rebranding. It's now called SSSSPRO, one S cooler!Aaaand: http://www.sssspro.com/ for easier access :)I will be working on the site, updating it and making it nicer and cooler and snazzier and eventually completely opening it up to everyone.Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for it and I'll see what I can do.Ciao!
I heard pendulum was there, how dare you miss them :(
Oh I love We Are Scientists, but I haven't heard their stuff in so long.I know, I really wanted to see them, but even if I was fit, I would have been working while they were on, and the tent and its surrounding area was ridiculously packed.
I checked out the festival website. What an amazing number of bands for a 3 day event! How they squeeze all them in? Several stages at once?
Yeah, there are many different stages going on at the same time.
The main stage, the NME/Radio 1 stage, the Lock Up Stage (friday and saturday)/Dance Arena (sunday), the Festival Republic Stage, the BBC Introducing Stage and the Alternative Stage. It is an amazing festival, highly regarded by many as the best in Europe, if not the World.I haven't really heard any of those bands. I think I just hate music in general.
Some people (like me, because I was working) stay for 5 days, most people for 4 and they camp out in the various campsites located around the farm.
Reading looked amazing as ever this year. I really want to go to one of the festivals next year!
Woop SSSSPRO!!!!!!
