Hi everybody!

I was away from 64Digits for a long time this time. June 26 last year was my last blog post, apparently, but here I am again. I've been back for a few weeks, posting here and there and casting my watchful eye on things. Seems like most people are still around.

I've been on placement, working full time for the last 14 months doing ActionScript development at a company here in Sheffield. It's been a lot of fun but I'm back at university now and ready to crack on with what sounds like a really interesting year.

I've got 5 modules this year:

- 3D Games Prototyping. In this I will be working with PS3s which will be awesome. We'll be making a mini game as a group. I've got an idea that I'm going to pitch in a couple weeks.

- Game Software Project Management. In this we learn about the life cycle of game development in the industry and all the horrible things that come with it.

- Mobile Applications. This is my optional module and we'll be looking at - you guessed it - mobile application development.

- Real-Time 3D Techniques For Games. In this module we'll be learning about DirectX 11 and how to work with vertex and pixel shaders.

- Project. This is my final year project which I will need to start working on straight away. I've got a good idea of what I want to do and I'm meeting with a tutor on Wednesday to see if he'll take me on as my supervisor.

So it's going to be busy, but very interesting and a lot of fun to make some cool things!

For this year of university, I'm living in a nice little flat about 10 minutes down the road from my campus. I've been here since June and settled in nicely. It can get a little cold in here as it's a very old building, dating back to the 1800s when it was a merchant's office.

Other than that, there's not really much else happening at the moment. I keep trying to redesign my website and then decide half way through that I don't like it anymore.
