To sort of make up for my total lack of recent blogs, I decided to find some exclusive information and post that. So I contacted JoshDreamland and asked him a few quick questions about his Enigma Project. Which if you don't know what that is check here. http://enigma-dev.org./
The Interview is as follows:1) Why did you decide to start Enigma?Mostly because of the incompetence of those who run the main competition. I figured that it would be a nudge for them or a project for me, and it turned out to be the latter.2) How long had you been tossing around the Enigma idea before you went public with the fact you were working on it?Not very long. I've generally been open about all of my ideas, especially when it involved starting a riot. I've been a little more secretive about R3, but that's all about to change.3) What do you think Enigma's first truly usable version will be? (In version number, not release date)R3 will be the official alpha, which has proven to be stable, as you will see very shortly.4) Do you feel that you have a nice group of people working on it with you that you will be able to accomplish a lot with?So far, we haven't been working like much of a team. But as the environment becomes more usable and the project progresses, we will probably get a version control system online, and pull together a little better. At the moment, all coding is done individually with little help from others. But perhaps the CVS will help that. 5) I can understand if you wish not to answer this; When do you think Enigma version 1 will be released. (You can be a vague as you wish, such as an estimated year)Four to Eight months.6) Anything else you wish to say about Enigma (Other than please donate money [:)] )We're actually not in need of money. The site has paid for itself for two full years already, and it hasn't even been four months. Oh, and I suppose I should mention the site is the only thing that a nickel has gone into anyway.Other than that, I intend to put together a public presentation some time tomorrow, now that some very key systems have been successfully recoded. Then will begin an extensive test period, followed by R3. Its release date will be finalized tomorrow or the day after. (Not to put a release date on the release date.)There you have it, some exciting news! I would like to thank Josh for kindly enabling me to do this; I wish him the absolutely best of luck on Enigma.Check my last blog if you want information pertaining to me.-Elmernite
