acid suggested that 64D make t-shirts and have people wear them to promote the site. He said we should use this as a way to generate money, but didn't explicitly say to sell the shirts, so I'm not sure how this would help make money.
But that's why he's the marketing genius, and I'm just the guy who keeps spelling genius as genious.Anyway, this is totally not going to happen, but I think a solid coloured crimson 64D logo (we don't really have an official one) would look cool on the front of a black t-shirt. And on the back, written across the upper back in white text, would just be some slogan. There could be a handful of different shirts with different slogans."Driven by lazyness""Member ID #2""Hand coded in front of a live audience"And so on. Basically a collection of "64D memes" (I just heard you grind your teeth and cringe) and sub-banner text (I don't know what it's called). The idea of 64D apparel has been around for like 8 years, but I thought I'd bring this idea up, to see if anyone would actually be interested in a shirt from 64D (I will not make one, but my ego will feel good), and what you think would be cool.
I wanna be a hero D:
I wanna be the guy. :|
I like the "driven by lazyness" slogan. It's plenty accessible to people outside 64D.
As for exclusive games, Reidd's pokemon lost silver is 64D exclusive, and has almost 10,000 downloads. I'm not seeing much extra activity, just because someone has to go to 64digits to click "download".I mean, I am seeing a lot of traffic, which is good for possible ad revenue, but I mean that I don't think it's worth restricting a developer's distribution, because I don't think it will make a big enough impact on 64D's activity.Lost Silver isn't 64d exclusive (or it wasn't in the past), and isn't it a bit odd to try to increase popularity using a banned member's game?
It is Odd, that's why I coined the idea at more exclucives in the first place.
1. reidd's banned and as soon as the game starts to show it's age people will stop coming. (didn't take long at all.)2. It's a fan game. I the long term I think the best idea is to say "screw fangames".I'm working on some projects with this idea at the very core of it.But profit is the paramount element.Sorry but here's comes a rather considerable dose of reality check:
Marketing a website using tshirts is fairly ridiculous. What next? Sponsoring local sports teams? I can't wait to see the 64Digits Warriors play. Should we hire a human billboard directing people to 64 Digits Street, the Internet? Purchase a classified advertising our services? Perhaps we should expand our merchandise with Potfrog dolls. But hey if you want tshirts MAKE SOME GODDAMN TSHIRTSI'd buy a shirt, just cause I've been here an eternity and it's awesome.
Yknow what, just make 64D stickers. I'll slather a my cruiser with em.JC: it's Toast, what do you expect lol.
Cyrus vs MUGEN: "BUT CAN YOU EVEN SKELETAL ANIMATION BRO?"I think Arc's timeless snafu should somehow become a part of this project:
