I Believe it is time to demonstrate the full power of this station
My system is nearly complete: As in, all I need is my PSU, which I'm picking up tomorrow.I got my 3870.My HiS 3870 512mb DDR4.It's over 22cm long. Should fit in my case without TOO much hassle, even if I have to remove a USB device (And since an HP pocket media drive bay is a bloody useless thing anyhow, I'm in the clear). That means I'm at:1.86gHz Core 2 duo processor (E6300)2gb DDR2 RAM (667mHz)250gb HDD (Plus 250gb external)Lightscribe dual-Layer DVD Super Multi Drive (I hate saying that when selling to customers)HiS ATi Radeon HD 3870 512mb DDR4700W Rocketfish Power supply (as of tomorrow)Soundproofed caseBefore anyone goes in on the RAM or CPU: Yes, I know DDR2 RAM goes faster than 667mHz. Yes, I know the E6320 is better than the E6300. Yes, I know that 1.86 gHz isn't above midrange. I also know that all of these are going to be solved during the rolling upgrade process over the next few years (and I also know that I can get undisclosed discounts on intel processors due to my job).NCIX.com is awesomeIt's where I bought my graphics card, and they know how to pack and ship. When I ordered, they had run out of stock: they sent an email saying so, and that stock would arrive on monday, which they were right about: And on that monday, as soon as it was in, my order shipped. I chose UPS ground shipping, which is 1-6 days: 2 days and it was here (might be because it's only shipping from BC).A word about packaging: these guys pack amazingly. The sides of the package were a bit dented in by UPS, but inside nothing was damaged because the entire graphics card was SURROUNDED by big plastic packing air pockets. Those are kind of like bubble wrap bubbles, but square and the size of a paperback copy of Dune. 8, all packed tightly in around the HiS box, and my copy or Valve's Black Box and Call of Juarez (free with the card).Yeah, I'm impressed. Go order stuff from them.
i only read your blog for star wars references

Ok, ok. Let me read from the back of my SC4 Deluxe box.
OS: Windows XP, 2000, Me, or 98CPU: 500MHz or fasterRAM: 128MB or more (256MB for XP/ME)Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD DriveHard Drive: 1.6GB or more free spaceVideo: DirectX 7.0 compatible video card (see right)Sound: DirectX 7.0 compatible sound cardIt was released in January 2003. That's 4, nearly 5 years ago. You do not need a 'very good computer' by nowdays standards to run this game 'fine'. The minumum VRAM for it is 32MB.Sim City 4 does not need a very good computer by nowdays standards (A very good computer would be an AMD Phenom/Intel Core2, nVidia 8 or ATI 3xxx, and at least 2GB RAM).Hey, I should get SC4. I can play it on my integrated before I install my new card.
SC4 BARELY players on those specs… I mean, you can't have a city above 10 people
