Bye bye GM
Since Gm screwed up on my computer AGAIN, I am probably going to drop it completely. When I open it, it says "Softwrap file Error3" , then "Inconsistent files." I uninstalled and installed. Still doesn't work. I'm kinda glad since GM won't help you out much in a career. I plan on getting into XNA since it is currently free to make games for a 360. From what I've seen of it, it doesn't look too bad. I am also currently downloading Xubuntu. Is that the best Linux diriv. to download? We are getting a laptop tomorrow. We bought one refurbished from Dell ( www.dell.com/outlet ) that is supposed to be an awesome deal and found a better and cheaper laptop at BestBuy. We had to wait since they are out of stock. SaegloeSince I probably won't be working on it anymore, here's a screen from my latest project, Saegloe.http://64digits.com/users/gtvg/saegloe_2_25.PNGIt's made mostly in Flash, and I think it look's pretty nice.XNADoes anyone here use XNA? I hope it isn't too complicated to learn.Woohoo! I broke 8k hits! Who cares?8002 hits~GTVG~
XNA rocks.
I like symplyMEPIS as a linux distro, but w/e, that's beuty of linux.Poor GM… you could always get it cracked?Gimme a call if you make any progress with XNA. I don't feel like picking it up for ENIGMA.
I was also going to start using XNA but for now I'll stick with GM ;)
Ubuntu is a really good distro, and i like it. I'd compare xfce and enlightenment desktop environments when you try it. Both are really fast, but i'm not sure which one is faster. Enlightenment looks a hell of a lot prettier though, but it is slightly unstable and you don't wanna accidentally power down improperly.
You could
buycrack Torque 360 when its outXNA requires you to learn C#, so if you're willing to do that XNA isn't tht bad
I coulda sworn they had something for C++ with that. Given, this is MS we're talking about, but…
XNA fails because you need to use C#, which is a slow language, and then the average windows user will not even be able to run your game without them installing the runtime. Not cool.
Yeah, I just looked it up right now and it said you need to use C#.
C# isn't slow, it's .NET
But of course, C# was made by MS for .NET, so you'd have to use that one compiler I saw somewhere that doesn't appear to be that good. And I don't think there's anything like XNA for C++, but there would seem to be a way to use it in the 360.
