Joseph Barbera (1911 - 2006)

Posted by leemcd56 on Dec. 18, 2006, 10:04 p.m.

Joseph, a truly lively animator before his time had worked with his partner William Hanna for many years on a lot of cartoons such as Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Tom and Jerry, and the more famous movie Charlotte's Web. Until William died in 2001 where Joseph would continue on without him. Short after William's death, Joe recreated Scooby Doo in an animation named What's New, Scooby Doo? and also Tom and Jerry in Tom and Jerry Tales. Though this would not continue for long until Joseph died several years after on Sunday, December 18, 2006 of natural causes. He will be missed.

All of the good animators die out while the ones who make crappy shows come in. Now when I see my bro watching TV I literally have to ask him why he even watches it in the first place.
