Dominos 3 video #2

Posted by marbs on Feb. 11, 2010, 6:55 a.m.

Here you go. A good quality video of the most recent version of the game.

Again, there is no music, but right at the end you can hear some noisy people being noisy in the background, even though it was 1am. Silly noisy people.

Here is the previous video for you lazy lazes our there.

And out of interest, does anyone else here use reddit? I do.

Looking good. Unlike my current situation.

I like the sticking feature. Now all you have to do is implement it so it can't be used to cheat past areas where sticking wasn't intended.

That looks amazing. Will there be a version available for PC?

@Kilin

Good point, I can introduce a different type of terrain that you cannot stick to. I could also just place some deadly spikes so that people cannot go through certain areas. I suppose it mainly comes down to designing the level well.

@Nighthawk

Probably, would be a shame to put all this work into the game engine and only use it once.

I've been trying to think how the controls would work for the PC. Possibly something like this:

A & D: Roll left/right

Ctrl or Space (or S): Stick

W: Jump (in direction of arrow keys)

Arrow keys: Choose jump direction

That way you could jump in (almost) any direction, like how you currently can on the iPhone. However, those controls may turn out to be a bit tricky or fiddly. In which case I could simplify the controls down to this:

A & D or Left & Right: Roll left/right

W or Z or Up: Jump upwards

Ctrl or Space or X: Stick

How about using a mouse click to jump in the direction of the pointer?

Haha, I forgot about the mouse. Yes that would work much better.
