1st gen
(I wrote a load of waffle here, but then I deleted it because it was rather dull to read, and instead, here is a brief summary)Summary: "Dominos 3 runs well on 1st gen iPod Touches!"(Or if you would like a more elaborate summary)More elaborate summary: "My friend came over, and we tested Dominos 3 on his 1st gen iTouch, since I wanted to see how fast it would run because I have been developing on a 2nd gen, and have been concerned that it would run too slow. It turns out it runs at about 25fps, sometimes 30. This is perfectly playable, and it doesn't feel laggy when you are playing it. The only problem is that there is a rarely occuring bug that only happens when the fps drops down low, to about 20fps or so, so I've just got to make sure it stays above that threshold."New nameNow here is the part of the blog where audience participation is required.Look at this picture of the main character:Can you think of a suitable name for him?Need some different material? Well then, here he is as a pirate (Arr!):See, I am trying to come up with a new name for Dominos 3, since "Dominos [sic]" implies a game about, well, dominoes. I think it might work well if I call the game after the protagonist's name, however he is as of yet unnamed.Stevenup seems in favour of the name "Floo floo", but that sounds rather silly if you ask me.Any name ideas? Trevor? Dylan? Bleh, they sound silly. Or maybe I should just name the game something completely different. To give you some perspective, here is the story line:In other Dominos 3 related news, here are some short updates:-I have decided I will aim for 20 levels (there are 9 so far)-I've added several new obstacles (including cute moles that pop out their holes)-SirXemic has done some music that I will probably be using (for the menus. I think I may rely on just sound effects in game)Now for something different, here is a short funny movie trailer. Thanks for reading or not!
Name the protagonist Pim. :)
Name the protagonist Greyson!
How about Kyle? :P
…And I wasn't even joking!
Kyle sounds fine. You should make the text rhyme.
…and name him Domino, or don't name him at all.You want to change the name of such a successful series? Dominoes is fine.
Haha, I was wondering how long it would be before you came here to complain about me suggesting that. (I suggested Kyle not to annoy you, but because apparently Ace02's name is Kyle (according to his profile), and RC and sirXemic had just suggested each other's names).
If I call the main character Domino, I could call the game "Domino's Quest". That way it would retain the word "Dominos" from the original game, except have an apostrophe there instead.I loved both of the Dominoes games, and this looks like it will be just as fun. :D
