Progress Report

Since I'm on break now, I finally got a chance to start working on my project. I haven't done much on it yet but I got a working movement engine for the character. I know it's not a lot but this is my first time doing this.

The game plan I've drawn up is going to be a mashup up a lot of different genres. Mostly it's going to look a lot like Zelda. I suppose it's fitting that I chose Link to be my temporary char sprite. You are in the center of a maze. you must find your way through several "sections" that are full of puzzles and monsters. Along the way there will be items that you will collect that will help you finish a section, although it might not help in the section you are inhabiting at the time. Here's the catch, the maze is cursed and you can't remain in any section for a long period of time. There is a timer associated with each node in a section. When you are hit by a monster, instead of losing health, you'll just lose time.

I'm going to continue working and by the time I post again, I hope I'll have some real progress.

Merry Christmas

heh, mine looks exactly the same, I used the link sprite too, I also implemented corner detection and moving along angled surfaces though.
