I support G-java

Ok, as many already know, YoYogames has made Game maker suck by making it a commercial project. To tell you the truth I say this coming and didn't care. But now I do and beleive that now is the time to come together and create an new program that will beat Game maker and put YoYogames to shame.

I have just started learning programing in java, but have not gained the experience needed to help out the guys at http://www.g-java.com with there latest project. You remember the WIP converter G-java that was promising but not very reliable? Now the crew want to make a new version called G-java 2 that will be used to create games and applications in the java language that can run on anything (Mac, linux, Browser, mobile, you name it.)

Currently, the source code is available and can be opened with Netbeans ( http://www.g-java.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2658 ). I think you might have to be familiar with java (like adding ; ant the end of every line) and how to use Netbeans for you to get it ro work but hopefully in the near future you would be able to make games much like GM.

If this is successful then the power and legacy of Mark Overmars will be passed down to more people.

Apparently the new G-java is going to mimic GM to the core. It even has a D&D editor very similar to GM.

The new G-java has been in dev since late February. Since the software is open source it looks like it won't take too much time to finish.

Open Source doesn't mean quick development, but it helps if there are enough skilled people interested.

I thought G-Java was supposed to converted gm6 files to Java, if they're taking this new approach they should change its name.

I cant wait. Now we can put up java games instead of downloads!

If they pull this off it will be nice if 64D has a java applet hosting page making the community like newgrounds.com
