Hmm. I think I will start a new blog ranting session called ????. I cant think of a name. I dont know if I should call it "what grinds my gears[1]" or "what pisses me off[2]". It will start like this.
Do you know what ([1] or [2]), when people say I dont know to job related question. I mean it is your job to know. I mean when you go to a library and ask for a book, and they say they don't know where it is, that is what really grinds my gears. But if you ask the guy at the ticket booth of a train station if he can help you with your map and he says HE DOESN'T KNOWS HOW TO USE A MAP? WTF? Why the fuck do they employ such stupid ass holes to help bystanders? Plus there are unions that protect thes fuckers, and there bosses!!! Isn't that why the went to school? And that is what grinds my gears.Top 5 game clonesYou know, making a clone is strongly discouraged in the gaming community. Stealing gameplay and modifying it without originality or style is bad for business most times and attracts bad criticism. However, there are some games that have actually sold millions of copies just for being clones. This list if for the top 5 games (in my opinion) that have made entire franchises just by copying other games.5. Heavenly swordThis is a next gen game. Just get God of war and add better graphics and Ninja Gaiden gameplay and you get a very short good game. Good thing it was made by Team Ninja, NOT EIDOS, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness sucks.4. Crash team racingMario Kart Remains the best racing game EVER. Too bad the same cannot be said about the crash racing series (as well as the rest of crash series). The first game was just a diddy kong racing game clone that remains one of the best games on the PS1. 3. True crimeBullet time, Kung fu moves, Driving in a big city. This is a Matix, Max payne, GTA clone making it the clone of all clones. Even the box art is a clone. Still,it was alright and had a great sequel.2. Chrono TriggerSorry, Chrono Trigger isn't a clone. It actually IS a Final Fantasy game. Chrono Trigger was made by the same people as FF, as well as being re-released under the name of Final Fantasy Chronicles. Failure…I can here the fan boys going wild right now. Yes, chrono trigger is a Final fantasy clone. The Battle system, game play, even the time machine is a clone of the airships of final fantasy 4+. It is, after all, it was made by the makers of final fantasy and dragon quest (the art is a clone of dragon quest). The games story is just beautiful and everything comes together very well. Beautiful Game.1. Perfect darkSomething to notice - Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were both made by RareGoldeneye engine, check. Goldeneye team, check. Total access to the N64 hardware and the sigma of making one of the best game of all time the previous year, check. One of the Iron ladies of gaming was made in the shadow (and engine) of 007 himself, the perfect clone (corny).Runners Up.metal slug: obviously a conta clonedino crisis: A resident evil clone. If you notice all the best clones are made by the same companiessplinter cell: Only Sam fisher, Not the game.Dr Mario: Yes, Obviously "GOOD" a tetris clone.
splinter cell is ten times better then metal gear solid will ever be
You DO realize that Chronotrigger is made by the same company as Final Fantasy, and that it was re-released in combo with FFIV under the name Final Fantasy Chronicles…
Hironobu Sakaguchi, producer and creator of the Final Fantasy series, also supervised Chrono Trigger's development…Calling Chronotrigger a clone is blasphemy…And yes, twas I who edited your blog - I couldnt resist :DChrono Trigger is a Final Fantasy clone. The one thing that Chrono Tigger did better than FF was the battle system, where the battles take place on the map, not some other place where the background never changes and the badguys all stand in the same place battle after battle.
They probably called it Chrono Trigger and not Final Fantasy Number Here becuase Chrono Trigger was so much cooler.Chronotrigger is a Final Fantasy game, although it does not have the words Final Fantasy in its title. I again point out it was re-released under the name of Final Fantasy Chronicles along with FFIV. Had it not been a Final Fantasy game, that would not have happened.
I declare massive failure upon the poor souls who cannot understand. Also, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are both products of Rare - Perfect Dark used a modified GE:007 engine…Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were both made my Rare.
Also, Splinter Cell is the best stealth game ever, because it does not have a bald guy spoon-feeding you how to climb ladders. How does I climb ladder? Does I start foot first?
School teachers also belong to unions.
Whats with the hair in that Heavenly Sword screenshot? Doesn't look like that in any other screenshot I've seen..
@DesertFox: I still think Chrono trigger is a Final fantasy clone, not a spinoff. Instead of expanding on the final fantasy universe (in the case of FF adventure, turning into secret of mana), it borrowed elements form the series (as in most Square games) and gave it an original twist. I could just as well call it a final fantasy game, but it has a sequel like MANA, and thus could very well be it's own franchise.
@ DomThe only reason why splinter cell is on this list is because of Sam fisher. Yes, he is a solid snake clonehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqM4uv1boh0The whole world is built around plagerism. There are very little ideas or inventions that are original anymore. I mean look at Japan everything they ever do is a more hi tech copy of someone elses work but if it wasn't for people doing that then the world wouldn't move forward. The point i'm trying to make is that there's nothing wrong with using other peoples ideas and at some point in our lives we all copy off something.
