During the development of my game, I took a good look at the premise and tried to see what made games like Mario or Sonic successful in there hayday. I analyzed the stories and realized that it basically follows comical (and most cases wacky) misadventures that make no sense. I tired to write a story for my game using such a premizs and this is what I came up with: enjoy
Episode 1: The day starts off with Kyle relaxing in the sun, trying to remember something important. He knows that there is a special occasion going on, but can't remember what it was. His friend Rex comes by and tells him that he has found something very strange sticking out of the ground and the two go and investigate. They head to a tree that grows explosive fruit and find a flower with a bow tie growing under it. It then turns out that the flower is part of the carnivorous Snatcher plant and the bow tie belonged to it's last victim. Rex tries to fight the plant but is ultimately (and soundly) devoured by the plant, leaving Kyle to face him alone. After a tumultuous battle, kyle defeats the Snatcher and saves Rex and a mysterious man called Sly "Psychic" Mantis. After trying (Unsuccessfully) to read Kyle and Rex's minds he accidentally reminds Kyle that today's the birthday of another one of his friends, Lana. Unfortunately, Kyle forgot to get a present for her and begins to panic (fearing Lana's short temper). Mantis then tells kyle that he has an expensive cell phone (which he bought by mistake) that kyle can have if he accepts a mission (this is strange, since kyle just saved his life). He then explains that he was heading for a cave located not to far from there location where an ancient civilization reside. He was hoping to find the legendary shard of fire that they seem to worship and "borrow it" so it can be researched by his employers, Boss Inc. Despite being completely against his motives (Mantis saying "They say either you get the shard and get a promotion, or get FIRED") Kyle accepts and goes out to retrieve the shard, save Mantis' job, get Lana's birthday present and make it in time for cake. With that said, now for some Questions:1. What is the wackiest story you ever saw in a game?
Well, in Oddworld you blew up a brewery which used the bones of your dead as an ingredient. Sam and Max is even "wackier." But there's nothing that can top an army of overdithered potatoes with various RPG cliches even though the game is a platformer.
My game storys pretty wacky, but not wierd.

Is this game going to involve switching the controller to the 2nd port?
