Merging 64digits blog with blogger blog?

Posted by mazimadu on July 29, 2010, 9:39 a.m.

As the above title suggest, I was wondering if it were possible to merge my blogger page with my 64 digits page via php. The reasoning for this is simple. I really, really hate having to type a blog on my page, only to copy and paste it into 64 digits. This is further compounded with the fact that tags for images have to be changed every time. Another problem I have is that most (ok, all) of the comments I get with my blog come from here. If there were a way to attach my comments to my blogger post, that would be nice.

Another very important reason I want the two accounts merged is that I use feedburner to gather my post so I can make them appear on my (largely incomplete) website. It would be nice if my 64digits post and comments (via blogger) reflected on my web page.

So as I ponder on how this may be accomplished, let me hear what you guys think of the matter. In the mean time, I can only hope that the mods of this site get up their lazy asses and make this happen. Some day.

BTW, you can visit my site here to see what it looks like

I'm not familiar with Blogger, but I do know that systems of that sort tend to recommend every commenter have a login for the site in question, and some don't allow guest/anonymous comments at all. Using something like that for a main site's blog sounds like a bum idea in general, never mind trying to merge it in here. :/

Just stop blogging there. You'll get more comments here, and if you must, just link here on your site.

Then again, I seem to remember elmernite integrating his 64D blog into his site quite nicely… hmm…

Nevermind, he's removed that. Probably used the RSS feed somehow and sacrificed the comments. Maybe you could do the same, and then have "See Comments" links that take the user to the page of the entry they were just reading here?

Hmmmm, that sounds intresting. But then I would have to either rely on 64D to be active or write an application to periodiclly download the RSS.
