Here's something, how about a community driven game? Personally I am surprised that this hasn't been made yet by a community like 64 digits. Maybe one exist that I don't know of, but I remember asking for a collaboration with some members (which no one followed through with, so we are all sorry). If anyone is interested, please discuss.
The square humanoids scare me in a kind of 70s kids TV show way.
Really? How so?
Apparently characters' eyelashes can reflect emotions just like eyebrows.
Also, the community game idea has been done before. For the longest time, it was pinned and had quite a few people working on it. But as you can see, it's no longer up, and the game hasn't been released, so it's safe to assume that there just wasn't enough interest.Besides that, not many of us have a language in common. Sure this is a former GM site, but the number of GM users is decreasing, and very few people (DesertFox, Ludamad, etc) would/could program in anything else. Before you pursue it, look at the banner. "Driven by lazyness." If we can't even spell "laziness" right, what makes you think we're going to finish a community game?Besides, the only thing of a community game left (that I've seen) is 64Brawl, which was more or less a joke. However, it was my work with help from very few people (remember Andes and stampede?), and with school started back up again, I doubt I'll finish it anytime soon.@Kilin
No problem. I'm sure if I make a game engine that is highly modable(ie, being able to add scripts and sprites without compromising the underlying game mechanics), we should be able to have a solid collaboration that way.@ sir Xemic:I so deleted your post by accident.(really, I did. Don't vex at me)Well I was about to say 'I'm with Xemic', but then I find him censored, as though your blogs are some kind of evil dictatorship. Except instead of facism and mass murder you force the appreciation of petty stories about personified squares with subtlety suggested tits.
…too much? You see subtlety suggested tits? I dare you to make fan art of that.
Or better yet, enjoy some none fan art.http://www.zeldawiki.org/images/b/b9/Midna02.pngAlso I really deleted Xemic's post by accident. I was trying to edit a post and it died. You guys need to add an "are you sure?" dialog to keep this from happening.Oh, if Xemic can be so forward, let me have a shot at it.
If you'd tried to develop more interest in Squares before you attempted this comic, you'd have been a lot better off. If you want it to be its own comic rather than a backstory of the game, add an actual plot, more panels, and look at some actual comics for tips.Comic = funny. This isn't funny. >=[@ kilin
Ok, you got me. The reason the comic is following a 4 panel format is to make story telling easier to manage. This works for me because I can focus on work and do this on the side instead of trying to do it all at once, get dissatisfied, start again, rinse, repeat. That has pretty much how I've been making my games which is why you haven't seen a proper Kyle's Quest 2. Despite the(welcome) harsh criticism, most of the older members of the community should understand why I chose this approach. It is better to just go at something and improve over time than to try and please everyone on the outset. Also, you can read the work of Bleedman (who has so many advantages against me, with better art, fan service and longer plots).http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/http://sugar.snafu-comics.com/http://grim.snafu-comics.com/I find your lack of faith disturbing.
