The Squares: The princess in the castle. (Update)

Alrighty then. The past week has been a real pain. Mid terms have been going on, projects are due, and despite having a whole month to prepare, I still don't know where I want to go for spring break. I want to visit somewhere by train. It is much cheaper than taking a plane and I get to enjoy the scenery while reading, writing and programing. Anywhere along the east coast looks good. Washington, Boston, etc. I may need to watch a few travel shows to know what sights I want to look out for. But hey, worst thing that may happen is that I stay in NYC.

Now, the game has been coming along smoothly. Most of all major components have been accounted for, such as sound (thank you internet), voice talent (you know who you are), and of course, graphics. I have added some demoralizing taunts to the princesses arsenal. Here is a few.

I will get you for this, Inspector Gadget!

If I pull back hard enough, I may look like Oswald the rabbit

Smack that!

Now that most of boilerplate code and resources are in place I can now star doing the most important part, level design. I have charted a few areas ranging from the castle keep, to the store room. The problem I am having now is, well, intensity. I wanted this game to have a very, fast paced feel. Something similar to Joakim Sandberg's games (check them out here, they are intense!). Instead I got something much slower in feel than what the music suggest. I will try adding more enemies to the game to make it more challenging.

Todo list:

- Intros: Flash cutscene or comic style images?

- Game Enemies

- More taunts

- More/better sounds

- Special effects (animated and particles)

- Voices for the characters (you know who you are)

Broken images? Don't you check your blogs? Makes me feel like you don't care ;_;

Also, placing text on the same line as your images is asking for trouble.

Cutscene or comic? Well comic would change things up, but cutscenes would be a smoother transition.

With the mood of the game, maybe comic would be better.

Congratulations, I suppose. Shit, do we really have 270,000 blogs?
