Well, it had been a long time since I made a blog entry, so I decided that I should comb my hair. After I got bored of that, I played extremely loud music until my ears hurt. Then, I finally realized that the solution to my problem was not to comb my hair or listen to music, but to write a new blog entry.
Actually, none of that happened, but strange accounts such as that seem to be prevalent among blogs recently. So, now I am left with the decision of what else to write in my blog. I could continue telling false stories and attempt to extract some type of deep philosophical value from them. Or I could pick a random subject and spend a few paragraphs criticizing it. Actually, I guess I'm already doing that. I think I'll continue my tirade about current trends in blogs. Not that I mind the way that blogs are… it's just something to do.One of the most popular trends is overuse of "randomness".Here, I quote Charlo:"It's not like any of you care about me, but I have just been awarded a staff position at these forums. See how active they are? I feel so special. And all I have to do is review three forums a day. :)"Well, that's probably not the best example. I guess that's not completely random; but you know what I mean. A person wants to write a blog entry and, discovering that there is nothing to write about, makes up somthing random.Another trend is the write in a sort of bored tone, about recent events and make witty comments about them. Here I make a reference to Orbofwisdoms wildly popular "On the subject of completely mundane things…"This sort of thing is interesting to read, and posted, seemingly, purely for the entertainment of those who read it.The last trend that I will briefly discuss is the trend of being vague. People seem to enjoy telling you enough to make you interested and then cutting off altogether. A perfect example of this, is rollwithit's "Ho hum." I still have no idea why rollwithit is so convinced that they will become nothing.I suppose this entry fits a lot of the descriptions that I just gave, which is proof that I don't necessarily dislike blogs formed in this way; I'm just bored.Starfish…lol, random…
Wildly popular? Apparently, you just inserted a random adjective there, and an adverb as well. A bored tone? How else should one write about completely idiotic (there, I said it) subjects like soup? In actuality, I was mocking those personal bloggers who write the stupidest of boring events in their blog. Now, why am I discussing my own blog instead of mooselumph's? Because like all personal bloggers, I'm narcissistic. "I'm depressed," "I had a good day," "I, I, I!"
In conclusion, this blog entry was a nice description of blog trends. And ZOMG u st0les me id3a at the end!!!!1!1</sarcasm>lol, nice topic. =P
Orbofwisdom: Ah, so you're entry was scrutiny of blog entries as well. Forgive me, I'm a little dense.
The starfish? That wasn't really related to the statement at the end of your entry. I had forgotten about it by the time I wrote this. (Maybe there was some kind of subconsious connection. Don't trust your brain, if you know what's best for you.)
