NOTE! This blog 'should' have been up on the 26th of May, but apparently I was caught during the move of the database, meaning it wasn't backed up. Unlucky me. [:(]
Wow, in my inactivity I somehow managed to come up with a new blog graphic. Yay!
I've been reading/watching/playing a large quantity of
'pulp fiction' lately (however this is not the reason for my long absence, you can blame my mid-year exams for that). Ones that I particularily enjoy include:
1. Zorro
2. Raiders of the Lost Arc (shame me for not seeing it beforehand)
3. The Darkness - read it or die!
4. MGS 2
5. Journey to the Centre of the Earth
Now, for some new details on my new project (the one involving spirits I mentioned earlier). The concept has changed a bit, and now involves variation upon a single, gameplay core. Read on…
The name:
Snatch!Literally, spiritually possess ANYTHING! Whether the object be living, static, mundane, etc… This thereby makes every object a platform game in its own right.
Adopt a variety of ghostly forms with unique abilities via the use of 'elemental essences'. You can also transfer the element to the object you possess. e.g. Possess a plant while equipped with the 'Fire Essence Carrier', and you'll set it alight while you control it.
Fantastic, superbly designed environments that defy logic. Like, an asteroid sandwiched between two miniature suns.
And to top it off, a character concept. (a quick doodle, really)
More positive news; in my GMClans activity, I won the first round of Casual Art (up against duckman35) and Pixelling! (-Ghost-) Too bad I'm up against the very legend of jmgandalf next, though. You can check out the main topic,
here.
As a leaving note, you must all check out teknogames' new web-comic, Thot Prohses.
I feel like I've read this before…
Deja vu or just a server hiccup.
I gotta stop inhaling all those fumes…
