Hi 64d. I've tried to get help through blogs before, but no one likes to respond, so please help me for once: I am working on a top-down shooter(along with like 50 other games, but I'm focusing on this one for now). The player aims with the mouse, rotates, etc, like any normal top-down shooter. But I want the reticle to be followed by the view, as opposed to the character. This works ok so far, but I need a way to keep the reticle from getting too far from the character. Right now all I have is "jump to position :mouse_x, mouse_y" in the step event. Can someone either tell me or show me an example of how to keep the reticle within a certain distance from the character? Oh, yeah, and I'm the ultimate-super-n00b at gm 'cuase i only know how to use dnd, so responses should be in dnd or VERY SIMPLE CODE please!Thank you very much, and to whoever gives me help that lets me accomplish this, I'll put you in the game credits if you like.Either respond in this blog, or pm me, but please don't flame or spam. Thanx
edit: ok im adding stuff to the blog, becuase the mods (especially melee) hate my guts: as son as i posted, it got tagged. About the game to add blog length:It's going to be a tds version of ghost recon becuase i was getting into a real ghost recon mood after dusting off the old cd and playing it. (Not ghost recon 2, the original series) Right now i have the main players completed, some enemies, and a few other things. But i would really like some good spriters to help me out: i need terrain graphics. Such as rocks, trees, water, grass, etc. Also, if anyone has any good backround music that resembles quiet, nature ambience, that would be nice. Random question:who's eaten venison pepperoni? My dad just forced me to eat some, and i almost gagged! G2G, were having KFC for dinner!Ok, now mods, please accept my blog this time. thank you all, once again.

I was following you with the intent to help until you said you only use D&D
lol
Hamlo???
Is it really necessary to make a topic on the gmc, this on 64digits, THEN COPY AND PASTE THE WHOLE THING INTO A PM TO ME ON THE GMC?
Hey! Cool your jets, 64d, i just asked for some help. If you can hhelp me, then do it. If not, then don't post, retards. I also asked not to spam/flame me.
So if you don't like it maybe you should just shut the fuck up, get to fucking live with it, and stop crying like a little girl.
You're requesting help, I gave it to you, then you act like a retard and blaming it on us? Dude…you suck on so many levels…watch your language, dude. and you didn't give me any help, you just told me to go to the gmc and ask for help.
and how do you know, mabye i am a little girl? or a fat chinses guy. or a cannibal. or all three…Oh, and btw, KNOWING GML DOES NOT MAKE YOU A FREAKY NERD! I have a life to, but I know gml BECAUSE I TOOK THE TIME TO LEARN IT. It took me a year and a half to get where I am, stop making up stories of why you can't learn it. You can, oh and telling you to go to the gmc WAS THE HELP.
All which has been said and the fact that there are(dead)forums for this
I can't even view D&D,I deleted it
