Flash cutscene for my gm game

Posted by nickkos on March 1, 2007, 3:46 p.m.

I just finished the flash cutscene for my gm game….I came up with an interesting way to implement flash cutscenes. Open the browser page….of where i post my flash on my website. A little inconvenient i know but hey it works. In the starting cut scene of sgt steeve…steeve is in the helicopter with his machine gun. And jumps out….as he plumets to the ground he opens his parachute. He hits the ground as if it were a halo jump. (google it)

Silcence and clamness approach. All is quiet outside the fortress…leading up to the game part….in which ur outside the fortress. Im gonna try and embed it.

Oh damn it doesnt work….oh well. Pretty interesting idea eh? Although it requires you to have an internet connection….thats running. Hell for dial up users. I didnt want to do cutscenes from gm6 as it would take up space and be too hard.

EDIT* after a little more testing…if figured out it doesnt work the way i planned. Is there a code to minimize the gm window while it plays. And is there an html code so that the movie only plays once instead of looping?

don't put <embed and stuff, you don't have HTML privs and don't expect to get them.Just post the URL with nothing around it.

No i use freewebs html version…easier….im an html master…but i prefer to use dreamweaver for more extensive code. Less typing. But i can work around the pain in the asses with html in dreamweaver

I assume you're using Macromedia Flash MX. If so, you use the stop(); command. You do know where to put it, right? Anyway. If you don't use Macromedia Flash MX, then I can't help you. Sorry. D:

Pretty nice cutscene.
